Street Photography or Photojournalism?
I’ve said before that street photography is like anthropology, discovering and capturing humans living in and interacting with the world in which they live. Photojournalism isn’t that far removed; it captures real life as it’s happening, though often with the intent of telling stories about events as they happen.
There have been times where I’ve been taking photos of people and asking myself which mode I’m in. While I feel the photos I’m sharing here—of a fire that happened some years ago in my neighborhood at the time—are more on the journalistic side, they do capture the way we as humans act and interact in those events. So, I feel these are as anthropological as any street photograph.
…What do you think?
