Yeah, so film is tricky…

Give me credit, I keep trying? I develop my own monochrome film at home, and for the most part I think I have it down (I mean, it’s a recipe, really); but sometime I end up getting the negatives into the scanner and end up with something really dirty and full of dust and such, like the first image below. It’s not a perfect image by any measure but I like it, so after about 30 minutes of photoshopping out all the flecks and flaws, I ended up with the second image below, which I’m actually happy about.

The funny thing is, I like both. There’s something about the flecked and flawed image that appeals to me, it looks “old world” to me, like a photo you found in a pile of old things in a trunk in gramma and grampa’s attic.

I don’t know, what do YOU think?
